Kick-Off Meeting in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, March 09-10, 2026
The Syntophagy Research Group kicked off its second funding period with a meeting in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. It was was an exciting opportunity to connect, share ideas, and set the direction for upcoming projects.
We are excited to announce that the Syntophagy research group will continue into its
second funding period 2026.
Building on the achievements of the first period, we look forward to advance our research, foster novel collaborations, and generate exciting new findings in the forthcoming 4 years.

Our annual retreats at a very special venue – Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Intense discussions, a good setting in particular for younger researchers and intriguing results. Let all of us keep very fond memories.
Retreats in September 2022 and 2023
We had to organize the Syntophagy kick-off meeting online since COVID-restrictions prevented a meeting in person. It was still fun with many vivid discussions. We had a good start with many ideas about collaborations.
